NOTICE OF AMENDMENTS TO PUBLIC PROCUREMENT BILL, 2020

Hon. Chairperson of Legislation Committee

  1.           Clause 4(1)(d) after the word “government;” insert words      “or with shares above fifty percent ”
  •           Clause 8 delete the entire Clause and renumber sequentially.
  •           Clause 15 line 4 after the word “Authority” delete (.) and insert the following words “after consultation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs.”
  •            Clause 19 (2) after the word “advertised” delete (.) andinsert the following words “competitive and assessed.”
  •           Clause 20 (2) line 2 after the word (performance) delete the following words “, and shall not necessarily be successive” and insert (.)
  •           Clause 22 after the word line “may” insert the following words “after consultation with the Chairperson having and followed due process of the law”
  •           Clause 22 (a) line 1 after the word “absent” delete the word “from” and insert “for”
  •           Clause 23 (2) line 1 after the word “for” delete the following words “the remainder of a term of office of vacating member” and replace with the following “four years.”
  •           Clause 29 (2) (a) line 1 after the word “years” delete words “and may be reappointed” and replace with “which may be renewed for”

  1. Clause 38 (3) after “the” delete the word “Tribunal” and replace with “Annual”
  1. Clause 38 (3) after the word “Parliament.” Insert “within a   period of three months, if the Minister fails to table the report within the stipulated time the Prime Minister shall within a month table a report.”
  1.   Clause 41 (1) line 2 after the word performance insert (.) anddeletethe following words “ but may not necessarily be successive”
  1. Clause 41 insert a new Sub-Clause (4) as follows:  “a member of a Tribunal shall be eligible for office for two terms only”
  1. Clause 48 (3) line 3 after the word “within” delete the following words “reasonable time” and replace with the following “thirty days after registration”

  1. Clause 81 (1) (c) (ii) after the word “supplied” delete (vi) and replace with (iii) and renumber sequentially.
