39.     EXPLANATION IN REGARD TO HA RAPOKOLANA SPORTS CENTRE

          Hon. M.S. Moholobela to ask the Minister of Sports the following questions in regard to Ha Rapokolana Sports Centre:

  • What is the current condition of the facility;
  • How much money was spend to rehabilitate the facility during the Region 5 games;
  • What disciplinary action was taken against officials who stole government property at the facility.
  • What is the Ministry’s Plan going forward.

40.     ADMINISTRATION OF TRADE TESTS FOR GRADUATES OF TECHNICAL SCHOOLS

          Hon. M. Kanetsi to ask the Minister of Education and Training if the Ministry still administers trade tests for graduates from technical schools.  If yes, how often does the Ministry test these graduates.

  • If no, what are the reasons behind the cessation of this practice as it hinders graduates from being employed.

41.     OPERATIONALISATION OF REGULATIONS

Hon. Senator M. Kanetsi to ask the Minister of Trade, Industry and Business Development if the Business Licensing and Registration Regulations, 2020 are operational.

  • If yes, how many businesses have changed ownership to that of Basotho.
  • If no, what are challenges towards the operationalization of he regulations and what is the way forward in making them operational.

42.     NEED TO LINK THE GRANT SYSTEM BETWEEN SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT AND NATIONAL MANPOWER DEVELOPMENT SECRETARIAT.

Senator S.G. Masupha to ask the Minister of Finance and Development Planning if she is aware that there is no swift transition in the grant system between the Ministry of Social Development at the lower level of education and the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning through the arm of National Manpower Development Secretariat for tertiary level especially for the needy students.

          Also if the Minister is aware of the need to re-introduce NMDS offices at the district level to ease the registration process particularly for those needy students.

          If the Minister is aware, how soon shall she ensure that there are measures in place to curb these challenges.
