47. NEED TO ENHANCE FOREST-BASED SOCIO-ECONOMIC BENEFITS
Resumption of adjourned debate on Question, (Tuesday, 11th November, 2025).
That this Honourable Senate urges the Government of Lesotho to conduct feasibility study on plantation of trees for timber production and enhance forest-based socio-economic benefits by resuscitating project for the production of timber and wood products using reserved forests. As the project was piloted at Phomolong (Popa and Ha Rampoetsi). Reserved forests in the country should contribute to poverty eradication by providing employment for our youth.
