60.     NEED FOR ADVOCACY ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) AMONG PARLIAMENTARIANS

Resumption of adjourned debate on Question, (Wednesday, 6th May, 2026).

That this Honourable Senate urges the Government of Lesotho to promote advocacy among Parliamentarians on:-

(a)     The concept of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its different forms,

(b)     AI’s transformative opportunities for Parliamentary processes,

(c)      Challenges and barriers to AI adoption in Parliaments, and

(d)     AI’s pros and cons.

This advocacy would encourage legislators to enact and adopt AI-related policies, laws and by-laws.
